A new partnership forged between two British and Indian technology firms looks set to spark innovation and collaboration in both countries.
MediaCityUK-based tech hub The Landing has joined forces with Hyderabad-based T-Hub to help promote innovation and accelerate growth in the tech industry through two initiatives, Market Access and CoCreate.
Market Access will support British start-ups that want to gain a foothold in India, and likewise, assist Indian start-ups trying to establish themselves in the UK.
Firms will get help with adapting their product or service and refining their business model to meet the demands of a new market. They’ll also be given legal and regulatory support, along with access to “tangible market opportunities with corporate clients”.
A second initiative, CoCreate, will take the form of a business challenge. It’ll bring together digital entrepreneurs and young tech innovators from Great Britain and India to solve large-scale challenges set by big corporates. The programme will create tailored solutions for unique and specialist tech-related challenges provided by real companies.
The new partnership featured in a Statement of Intent between the British and Indian governments during last week’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
Paul Billington, commercial director at The Landing, said in a statement: “Our unique partnership with T-Hub in India will bring fantastic opportunities to British tech businesses looking to set up in India but it will also connect small tech businesses with large corporates across both continents, giving them significant exposure on the global stage.
“To receive the backing of the British and Indian Governments is an incredible achievement and further cements our position as an international innovator and leader in the technology and innovation sector. We are now fully focused on launching these two new programmes so that British tech businesses can begin to reap the benefits of this unique collaboration.”
